Remote cheering system ‘Remote Cheerer powered by SoundUD (beta)’

Yamaha Corporation

Nowadays, there are increasing opportunities to enjoy live music, live sports, lectures, etc. from remote locations, not only on the TV and radio but also through streaming services and public viewing. However, we have not been able to directly deliver the excited voices of support of those who are watching from remote areas or at home to the venue. This system is a new patent-pending technology that is being developed to solve this problem. Even if you cannot visit a venue due to hospitalization or responsibilities such as child-care, or if you live in a distant place or even overseas, you can still send your support to venues via sound played through the speakers installed at the venues.

For Sports(Use case)

By tapping cheer buttons on their smartphone while watching what is happening at a venue, viewers can send their applause and cheers there in real-time.

・Viewer Application

Viewer support is sent simply by tapping the button for the cheer they want to be sent to a venue. Different versions have already been prepared to match various scenarios. Cheers and reactions can be customised based on the content.

・Venue-side Application

Just by connecting a venue's speakers and mixer to the dedicated iPhone application, viewer cheers will be received and can be played.

■ Audio Transmission Integration
Depending on the SoundUD audio transmission trigger sent by a TV program, it can be set so that only the actual viewers of a live broadcast or live stream could be allowed to join. Additionally, through integration with existing applications and web services, more can be offered for paid users and viewer-only content can be sent. By using the audio transmission reception SDK, you can add other actions by users in addition to their voice (linking with devices other than smartphones is also possible). It is also possible to make original applications that integrate with this technology.
